Mother’s Day Gratitude & Wishes

With Mother’s Day just a pop around the corner, you may be scrambling to order your bouquets of flowers, gift baskets, artful cards or other usual thoughtful gestures for the yummy mummies in your life this week.

Do that. Without a doubt, I think the moms of this world deserve every sweet gesture, nice gift, special treat or delightful treasure for all the amazing work they’ve done and continue to do.

Amidst all the gift guides and DIY projects though, I just wanted to take a moment to be completely and utterly thankful.

I’m grateful every day for the woman who brought me into this world. She gave me her eyes, delicate wrists, and enduring spirit. More importantly she’s given me love, support, strength and wisdom.

When times have gotten tough, she was a pillar that seemed to hold it all together, no matter what might be crumbling around us.

The most beautiful days when I talked and laughed until I cried, with happiness literally pouring out of me, without doubt included her as a shining light.

She taught me to not fear change, but embrace it with open arms. Rather fear losing this moment, because the present is truly what matters, so don’t get lost looking into a misty future.

Things may not happen for a particular reason, but they happen as they should, and fighting it will only make it more painful.

Most importantly, I think she tought me to be true to who I am, what I believe, and to never stop moving forward.

The lessons go on, but I think it’s important to think about all the things my beautiful mother gave me and to reach down to the depths of my heart and soul to say simply, “Thank you.”

I have some little treats set aside for my own mother this week (I’m not above the “stuff”), but pausing to really say what I’m thankful for is probably the most honest, love-filled, gift that I know my mom will treasure.

And amidst the luscious blooms and tasty bites you shower on your own mom this Mother’s Day, just take a moment to truly appreciate the mothers in your life and share with them why you wholeheartedly thank them for every little thing they have done and given you.

Sincerity and gratitude is not something you buy or create, but it is most certainly something you share with your mom.

Happy Mother’s Day to all you lovelies!
